A day on the water

The Cairngorms National Park is home to two outstanding lochs for watersports: Loch Morlich and Loch Insh. Whether you’re looking to try something new or enjoy a favourite activity with stunning scenery as your backdrop, both lochs offer unforgettable experiences on the water.

Loch Insh

Just a ten-minute drive from Kingussie and the Star Hotel, Loch Insh Outdoor Centre has been offering water-based fun for over 40 years. It’s a family-friendly spot with a range of exciting activities—including the ever-popular Jungle Float, a floating water park and launch pad that’s a hit with kids and adults alike. Booking ahead is highly recommended, especially during school holidays.

One of Scotland’s most iconic lochs, Loch Morlich is renowned for its golden sandy beaches and breathtaking views of the surrounding Cairngorm Mountains. There's no better way to take it all in than from the water itself. Loch Morlich Watersports provides everything you need to get started, whether you're a seasoned paddler or a curious beginner.
